DRAFT MASTER PLAN OPTIONS UNVEILED!

An open public meeting is to be held on July 24th, 8pm at the Open Door Centre, 147 Kettering Rd. This will be to unveil the 3 possible options for the master plan to develop The Racecourse and to get feedback about the pros & cons of these options.

The Racecourse Summit -a great success!

This important event was jointly hosted by the Northampton Chronicle & Echo & the Friends of Northampton Racecourse on July 20th. The Summit gave an opportunity for leaders in Northampton to hear about the ideas for improving The Racecourse and to become involved in a partnership plan to progress these ideas forward. Ann Tate, University of Northampton, Sally Keeble MP, Brian Binley MP and Mike Hayes, CEO of the West Northants Development Corporation were just a few of the 26 leaders who accepted the invitation and heard about the innovative ideas. The next stage of the development will be the formation of The Racecourse Partnership Board which will meet on August 16th at 2pm. Tuesday, July 4

Council approves motions supporting the Racecourse on 24th July

These are the resolutions passed by the Council on Monday 24th July 2006 that were proposed by Cllr Andrew Simpson
Northampton Racecourse Park This Council recognises Northampton Racecourse as one of the most important parks in the town.
Further this Council:
This Council resolves to:
· Work with all stakeholders and partners to draw up a masterplan for the park. · Support the idea of the healthy living hub to seek funding for plans to improve the park and develop new public facilities · Set up a Racecourse Action Team headed by a NBC manager that draws together all NBC stakeholders and external partners. · Actively seek external funding opportunities for improvements to the park
